Lessons from an 11 year old

Brianna attended a teen girl conference in St. Louis over the w/e called Revolve! We started our mom/daughter devotions last night. We are going to set aside time each week where just the 2 of us have a devotional together. We are using the book she got at the conference.
I have to share how much I enjoy my time with Brianna. She is only 11 but so very wise. Here is something she pointed out to me that she learned at the conference this weekend.
"God does not love us because we are valuable. We are valuable because God loves us." Martin Luther said that quote and Brianna and I thought it was pretty powerful. How often do we beat ourselves up because we mess up? Well, I know for me.....quite a bit. I have to remind myself frequently that I am a child of God, created in HIS image. I have to make a choice to change my opinion of what I think and focus on the truth of God.
Thank you Brianna for teaching mom so much. Watching you grow up is a delight to me. I love you and am so proud of you!
